Key Responsibilities

Risk Management

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk management framework across operational, financial, and cyber domains.
  • Conduct periodic risk assessments and internal audits.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on internal risk policies.
  • Prepare quarterly internal control reports for submission to the CBUAE.
  • Support business continuity and cyber incident response planning.

Compliance Oversight

  • Lead the independent compliance function as mandated by the CBUAE.
  • Ensure adherence to AML, KYC, data protection, and whistleblowing protocols.
  • Draft and update compliance policies and professional codes of conduct.
  • Ensure all personal and policyholder data is stored within the UAE with secure backups retained for 10 years.
  • Oversee outsourcing controls and ensure no offshore outsourcing of core functions.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure timely submission of compliance reports.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Risk Management, or Business Administration.
  • Professional certifications such as FRM, PRM, ACAMS, ICA, or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in risk and/or compliance within insurance or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of UAE regulatory frameworks, especially the Insurance Brokers Regulation 2024.
  • High ethical standards, analytical skills, and ability to work independently with unrestricted access to staff and records.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
