Key Responsibilities
Risk Management
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk management framework across operational, financial, and cyber domains.
- Conduct periodic risk assessments and internal audits.
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on internal risk policies.
- Prepare quarterly internal control reports for submission to the CBUAE.
- Support business continuity and cyber incident response planning.
Compliance Oversight
- Lead the independent compliance function as mandated by the CBUAE.
- Ensure adherence to AML, KYC, data protection, and whistleblowing protocols.
- Draft and update compliance policies and professional codes of conduct.
- Ensure all personal and policyholder data is stored within the UAE with secure backups retained for 10 years.
- Oversee outsourcing controls and ensure no offshore outsourcing of core functions.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure timely submission of compliance reports.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Risk Management, or Business Administration.
- Professional certifications such as FRM, PRM, ACAMS, ICA, or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in risk and/or compliance within insurance or financial services.
- Strong understanding of UAE regulatory frameworks, especially the Insurance Brokers Regulation 2024.
- High ethical standards, analytical skills, and ability to work independently with unrestricted access to staff and records.
- Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
