Risk Management Intern

<Job Overview>
Join our dynamic team as a Risk Management Intern and dive into the exciting world of financial risk analysis and mitigation! In this paid internship, you will be assisting new advisors with their practices by managing and overseeing the back-office operations of the business, assisting the advisors in the application, underwriting process, and playing an instrumental role in the financial advisors’ operations. This individual will provide all aspects of service support to the financial representative as he/she focuses on building his/her financial advising practice and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate CRM records: transcribe and verify notes, documentation, and update tasks.
  • Create and manage compliant client files; maintain the case tracker and ensure all representative-ready information is complete.
  • Prepare and process insurance applications: pre-fill forms, coordinate requirements and medical exams, and track application status.
  • Coordinate underwriting activities: manage medical exam scheduling/reviews, request and follow up, and verify rating information.
  • Enter and maintain client and policy data across company platforms; follow up on outstanding tasks with team members and clients to ensure timely completion.
  • Support policy servicing requests to facilitate account accuracy and payment collection.
  • Provide front-desk and office support as needed: greet visitors, direct inquiries, and assist the office manager with daily tasks.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships across teams; take on special projects as assigned by the Director of Operations.

<Requirements>

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in an operations, administrative, or client-service role preferred but not required.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and independent decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and common operational/CRM software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, time-management, and multitasking skills.
  • High attention to detail, reliable follow-through, and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with strong customer-service skills and the ability to handle change, pressure, and feedback diplomatically.
  • Commitment to professional development (licensing/registrations/designations) and strict adherence to confidentiality.
