The Rolling Mill Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for executing and supervising mechanical maintenance activities for the Reheating Furnace, Rolling Mill, and Finishing Facilities. The role ensures maximum equipment availability, minimizes unplanned downtime, and supports production targets while maintaining the highest quality standards and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities1. Mechanical Maintenance Execution

• Execute planned mechanical maintenance activities for Rolling Mill equipment in coordination with production teams.
• Supervise mechanical maintenance operations related to Reheating Furnace, Rolling Mill, and Finishing Line equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical failures, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure proper maintenance practices are followed to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
• Monitor maintenance activities to minimize unplanned shutdowns due to mechanical failures.

2. Shutdown Planning and Maintenance Coordination

• Participate in the planning and execution of scheduled maintenance shutdowns for rolling mill facilities.
• Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to ensure smooth execution of maintenance plans with minimal production disruption.
• Identify and plan spare parts and maintenance resources required for shutdown activities.

3. Spare Parts and Equipment Management

• Ensure availability of required mechanical spare parts, consumables, and maintenance materials for rolling mill operations.
• Monitor spare parts usage and coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment.
• Support the identification of critical spare parts to maintain operational continuity.

4. Budget and Cost Control

• Assist in preparing the annual mechanical maintenance budget and material requirements.
• Track maintenance expenditures and ensure compliance with approved budget limits.
• Monitor budget variance and recommend cost optimization measures without affecting equipment reliability.

5. Technical Reporting and Documentation

• Prepare detailed technical maintenance reports, failure analysis reports, and operational documentation.
• Develop and maintain equipment operating manuals and maintenance procedures as required.
• Ensure timely submission of reports with accurate technical information and analysis.

6. Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)

• Ensure strict compliance with plant Health, Safety and Environmental standards during maintenance activities.
• Ensure all team members participate in mandatory HSE training programs.
• Promote safe work practices and risk prevention measures during maintenance operations.

7. Team Supervision and Development

• Supervise and coordinate the work of mechanical maintenance personnel.
• Address employee concerns and grievances in a timely and professional manner.
• Support the development of technical and managerial competencies within the team.
• Encourage continuous learning and technical training opportunities for staff.

• Reduction in unplanned shutdown time due to mechanical failures in the Rolling Mill.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)

or

• Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the steel industry, preferably within rolling mill operations and mechanical maintenance.

Technical Skills

• Mechanical maintenance of rolling mill equipment, reheating furnace, and finishing line systems.
• Root cause analysis and troubleshooting of mechanical failures.
• Maintenance planning and shutdown management.
• Spare parts and maintenance materials management.
• Budget monitoring and cost control for maintenance activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Experience using SAP maintenance modules.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs550,000.00 - Rs630,000.00 per month
