Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management: Oversee daily workshop activities, including fabrication of structural components, maintenance of construction machinery (e.g., cranes, excavators, electrical tools), and repair of vehicles and equipment used in civil and electrical projects.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and supervise workshop staff, including welders, mechanics, electricians, and fabricators. Conduct performance evaluations, identify training needs, and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Resource Optimization: Manage inventory of tools, materials, and spare parts for fabrication and maintenance. Optimize workflows to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Budgeting and Reporting: Prepare and manage workshop budgets, track expenses, and report on key metrics such as equipment downtime, productivity rates, and cost efficiencies. Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Technical Certificate/DAE/Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5-7 years in workshop management, preferably in the construction, fabrication, or engineering sectors. Experience in EPCC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning) environments is advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of fabrication processes (welding, machining), mechanical and electrical repairs, HVAC systems, and construction equipment maintenance. Proficiency in inventory management software and CAD/3D design tools.
