Key Requirements:
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a mechanical/electrical engineering or process environment
Experience in rolling stock, rail, heavy industry, or similar maintenance environment preferred
Diploma / Technical Certification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
- Technical Skills:
- Experience in bogie, wheelsets, coupler, gangway, doors, HVAC & rolling stock component overhaul
- Basic fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and engineering drawings
- Ability to produce detailed and analytical technical reports
- Computer literacy
- Knowledge of Health & Safety practices (COSHH, manual handling, biohazards)
- Ability to maintain tools, equipment, and PPE properly
- Mandatory Criteria:
- Safety Critical role – strict adherence to HSE policies
- Strong understanding of compliance and internal control procedures
- Ability to work in team-based task environments
- Willingness to work full-time on contract until December 2027
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform overhaul and repair of Bogie, Wheelsets, Coupler, Gangway, Doors, HVAC, and other rolling stock components as per production plan and industry standards
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with VMI and internal procedures
- Conduct fault diagnosis and produce complex technical reports
- Act as a team focal point for assigned work packages
- Estimate task durations and coordinate with Supervisor
- Ensure proper documentation (JCD/WR/Form) completion before task release
- Implement and comply with HSE policies and risk assessments
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Support incident response at depots when required
- Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls
