Roofing Service Technician

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of roofing systems to identify damage, leaks, or deterioration using blueprint reading and schematics.
• Perform repairs and maintenance on roofs utilizing hand tools, power tools, caulking guns, and other specialized equipment.
• Assist in the installation of new roofing systems, including metal stud framing, tile laying, stucco application, and restoration work.
• Utilize construction estimating skills to assess project scope and materials needed for repairs or installations.
• Safely operate heavy machinery and perform heavy lifting to transport materials on construction sites while adhering to safety protocols.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure accurate execution of projects.
• Support other trades such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, welding, or remodeling as needed during multi-disciplinary projects.
• Maintain a clean and organized worksite by managing tools like hand tools, power tools, fabrication equipment, and scaffolding.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while following safety guidelines related to construction site experience.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in roofing along with a strong foundation in construction site work; familiarity with restoration or heavy renovation projects is a plus.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately for precise project execution.
• Knowledge of various construction disciplines such as carpentry (trim carpentry), masonry (concrete forming), metal stud framing, tile laying, stucco application, plumbing basics, welding techniques, and masonry work.
• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights comfortably while maintaining safety standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly on-site during unforeseen challenges.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients effectively. Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
