Overview
The Route Dispatcher supports telecom infrastructure operations by coordinating and scheduling Generator Maintenance Technicians responsible for backup power systems at cell sites, central offices, and network facilities. This role is critical in maintaining network uptime by ensuring efficient routing, rapid response to outages, and compliance with telecoms service level agreements (SLAs).
Duties
- Dispatch Generator Maintenance Technicians to telecom sites for preventative maintenance (PMs), troubleshooting, and emergency outage response.
- Coordinate daily routes throughout the GA Market.
- Prioritize critical network-impacting issues, including power failures, generator alarms, and storm-related outages.
- Monitor real-time technician activity and adjust routes based on changing network demands and ticket priorities.
- Interface with Network Operations Centers (NOC), project managers, and technicians to ensure timely service delivery.
- Ensure all work aligns with client SLAs, including response times and restoration targets.
- Dispatch and track tickets through client systems and internal platforms (e.g., ServiceMax)
- Provide technicians with accurate site access details, scope of work, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate site access, including security clearance, tower access, and landlord/customer notifications.
- Support large-scale outage events by coordinating rapid deployment and resource allocation.
- Maintain detailed logs of dispatch activity, delays, escalations, and resolutions.
- Excellent communication skills paired with professional phone etiquette for interacting with drivers, clients, and team members.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of dispatching experience in telecom, utilities, construction, or field service environments
- Experience with dispatch/ticketing systems, e.g., ServiceMax
- Strong understanding of SLAs, ticket prioritization, and outage response protocols
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with field technicians, management team and clients.
- Strong geographic knowledge and route optimization skills
- Availability for after-hours, weekends, and on-call rotations during emergencies.
Pay: $22.19 - $26.72 per hour
