Role Overview
The SaaS Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by leading the end-to-end sales function for SaaS products, with strong emphasis on proactive lead generation, cold outreach, and pipeline development. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on sales execution.
Key ResponsibilitiesRevenue & Pipeline Management
- Own and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets (ARR/MRR).
- Build, manage, and maintain a healthy and scalable sales pipeline.
- Ensure consistent pipeline generation through outbound and inbound activities.
- Forecast revenue and track performance against targets.
Lead Generation & Cold Outreach (Core Focus)
- Develop and execute lead generation strategies across multiple channels (cold calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, events).
- Conduct high-volume cold calling to generate qualified leads and book meetings.
- Identify and target decision-makers (C-level, IT managers, business owners).
- Build and manage prospect databases and outreach campaigns.
- Qualify leads using structured frameworks (e.g., BANT, MEDDIC).
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Define and implement SaaS sales strategies aligned with business goals.
- Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting → qualification → demo → proposal → closing.
- Optimize conversion rates across all sales funnel stages.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, and manage sales executives and SDRs (Sales Development Representatives).
- Set clear KPIs for outbound activities (calls, emails, meetings booked).
- Monitor performance and provide coaching to improve conversion and outreach effectiveness.
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
- Lead key deals and enterprise sales cycles.
- Conduct product demos and presentations tailored to client needs.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals effectively.
- Maintain strong relationships to support upselling and retention.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Align with Marketing on lead generation campaigns and messaging.
- Work with Product/Tech teams to ensure solution fit.
- Provide market feedback to improve product and positioning.
Sales Operations & CRM
- Ensure disciplined use of CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Track and report on key metrics:
- Lead generation volume
- Call activity & outreach performance
- Conversion rates
- Continuously improve sales processes and efficiency.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in B2B SaaS or technology sales.
- Proven experience in cold calling, outbound sales, and lead generation.
- Strong understanding of SaaS sales metrics (ARR, MRR, CAC, LTV, churn).
- Experience managing sales teams and outbound strategies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and closing skills.
