Safety-Human Resource Coordinator

Safety Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections, risk assessments, and audits.
  • Organize and facilitate safety meetings and training (e.g., OSHA, first aid, PPE use).
  • Investigate incidents/accidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain OSHA logs and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Monitor and track safety-related metrics (e.g., near misses, lost-time incidents).
  • Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain SDS documentation, Safety Station and First Aid kits.
  • Maintain Hazardous Waste (e.g. Tracking, Disposal and Scheduling)

Human Resource Responsibilities:

  • Support recruitment efforts including job postings, screening, and scheduling interviews.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding, orientation, and training programs.
  • Maintain employee records and HR databases ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with benefits administration including enrollment and employee inquiries.
  • Support employee relations by responding to basic questions and concerns.
  • Help administer HR policies and ensure compliance with labor laws.
  • Support performance management processes (e.g., reviews, documentation).

Other Responsibilities:

  • At times, the Safety/HR Coordinator may be asked to assist with other functions based on workload and company need. For example, there may be short-term needs within Customer Service or other departments.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in Human Resource, Occupational Safety, Business Administration or related work experience preferred.
  • Must possess US Citizenship
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Systems.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy packages as needed.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to adhere to safety standards and protocols.

The Safety/HR Coordinator is primarily responsible for supporting the organization’s safety programs and human resource functions. This dual-role position ensures compliance with health and safety regulations while also assisting with HR operations, including employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, and policy enforcement.
