ob Purpose:
To ensure the implementation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and practices at interior fit-out project sites. The Safety Officer is responsible for preventing accidents, promoting safety awareness, and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:1. Safety Compliance & Inspections
- Conduct daily site safety inspections to ensure adherence to HSE standards and regulations.
- Monitor and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Ensure all fit-out activities (civil, electrical, carpentry, MEP, etc.) are carried out safely.
2. Risk Assessment & Control
- Identify potential hazards, assess risks, and implement preventive measures.
- Prepare Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Method Statements for high-risk activities.
- Maintain updated risk registers for all ongoing site activities.
3. Safety Training & Awareness
- Conduct safety inductions for new workers and toolbox talks regularly.
- Promote a culture of safety through awareness campaigns and training sessions.
- Ensure all workers are equipped with the necessary PPE and trained in its proper usage.
4. Incident Reporting & Investigation
- Report and record all accidents, incidents, and near-misses immediately.
- Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, and suggest corrective/preventive actions.
- Maintain incident and injury logs and share reports with management.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain safety files, permits, registers, inspection checklists, and daily HSE reports.
- Ensure safety signage, evacuation plans, and emergency contact numbers are posted on-site.
- Coordinate with client representatives and consultants during safety audits.
6. Emergency Preparedness
- Implement site emergency response plans including fire drills, evacuation procedures, and first-aid support.
- Coordinate with medical teams and emergency services in case of serious incidents.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Diploma/Degree in Engineering or Science + Safety Certification (NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, OSHA or equivalent).
- Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of experience in HSE role, preferably in the interior fit-out or construction industry.
- Familiarity with local HSE regulations, IS codes, and client safety standards.

- Strong knowledge of safety procedures in interior fit-out environments.
- Good communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple sites if required.
- Proficient in MS Office and HSE documentation.
