Safety Officer

Job Description:

To ensure the safe execution of road and highway construction activities, preventing accidents and ensuring compliance with Qatar HSE and road safety regulations.

Education & Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field
• NEBOSH IGC – Mandatory
• IOSH Managing Safely – Preferred
• Valid Qatar Driving License (preferred for site mobility)

Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of road/highway construction hazards
• Knowledge of traffic management and diversion control
• Ability to conduct Risk Assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
• Incident investigation and reporting skills
• Knowledge of PPE and safety compliance enforcement
• Experience in work zone safety and public protection measures
• Good communication and documentation skills

• Fire Safety Training
• Work at Height Safety
• Confined Space Awareness
• HSE Induction Training
• Incident Investigation Training
• Road Work Safety / Traffic Management Training
• First Aid & CPR

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor daily road and highway construction activities to ensure compliance with approved traffic management and safety procedures.
• Verify barriers, signage, and warning systems are properly installed.
• Ensure all work is performed according to Ashghal work approval permit conditions.
• Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
• Enforce PPE usage on site.
• Investigate incidents and maintain safety records and reports.
• Stop unsafe work whenever required.
