Safety Officer

I&K Enterprises is looking for a proactive and dedicated Safety Officer for its Sheikhupura Plant. The role focuses on maintaining a “Zero-Harm” culture by ensuring workplace safety, implementing ISO standards, conducting risk assessments, and managing critical areas like chemical storage and fire safety. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance and promote a safe working environment across all shifts.

Job Purpose

To ensure a safe, compliant, and risk-controlled working environment across the production facility by implementing safety policies, monitoring compliance, and reducing workplace hazards, incidents, and operational risks.

Key Responsibilities

1. Safety Compliance & Implementation

• Ensure compliance with local safety laws and internal HSE policies
• Implement safety standards aligned with:
• ISO 14001 & 45001
• Conduct routine audits and inspections of plant, warehouse, utilities & Offices and other factory premises
• Strickley ensures Permit to Work
• LOTO

2. Risk Assessment & Hazard Control

• Identify workplace hazards and conduct risk assessments (HIRA/JSA)
• Develop and implement risk mitigation plans
• Ensure proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
• Monitor chemical handling, storage, and labeling safety

3. Incident Management

• Investigate accidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions
• Prepare incident reports with root cause analysis (RCA)
• Recommend and implement corrective & preventive actions (CAPA)
• Maintain incident logs and safety records

4. Training & Awareness

• Conduct regular safety training sessions for employees
• Arrange fire drills and emergency response exercises
• Ensure all staff are trained in:
• Fire safety
• First aid
• Chemical handling
• Manual handling
• Loading & offloading safe practices

5. Emergency Preparedness

• Develop and maintain emergency response plans
• Coordinate fire safety systems, alarms, extinguishers
• Liaise with external emergency services if required

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain safety documentation:
• SOPs
• MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets)
• Inspection reports
• Prepare monthly HSE performance reports & Kip’s
• Ensure audit readiness (ISO, GMP, HALAL, Vegan regulatory bodies)

7. Coordination with Departments

Required Qualifications:

• ·Bachelor’s degree (Engineering / Environmental Science / Safety Management preferred)
• Certification in HSE / NEBOSH / IOSH (preferred)

Experience:

• 2–5 years’ experience in manufacturing (cosmetics/pharma preferred)

Strong knowledge of:

• ISO standards
• Chemical safety
• Fire safety systems
