Job Summary

A Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment by implementing safety policies, conducting inspections, identifying hazards, and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. The role helps prevent workplace accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement workplace health and safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments
  • Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with local safety laws, regulations, and company standards
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses
  • Prepare incident and inspection reports
  • Conduct safety training and toolbox talks for employees
  • Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Coordinate emergency response procedures and drills
  • Maintain safety records and documentation
  • Promote a strong safety culture within the organization
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and auditors when required
