Safety Officer (HSE Officer)

We are seeking a qualified and proactive Safety Officer to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations across all project sites. The candidate will be responsible for implementing safety policies, conducting inspections, and promoting a safe working culture in accordance with Qatar Labour Law and international HSE standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and monitor HSE policies and procedures on site.
• Ensure compliance with Qatar Labour Law, QCS (Qatar Construction Specifications), and HSE regulations.
• Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify hazards.
• Prepare and maintain risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and safety reports.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training sessions for workers and staff.
• Monitor proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors on safety matters.
• Ensure proper permit-to-work systems are followed.
• Maintain HSE documentation and records for audits and inspections.
• Promote a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in construction/fit-out projects (GCC experience preferred).
• Mandatory certifications:
• NEBOSH IGC (International General Certificate)
• OSHA or equivalent safety certification (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of Qatar HSE regulations and standards.
• Ability to prepare safety documentation and reports.
• Good communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
• Ability to work under pressure and on multiple project sites.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in high-rise building, MEP, or interior fit-out projects.
• Knowledge of ISO standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
