We are seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Officer to ensure a safe and compliant work environment across all logistics operations supporting the renewable energy sector. The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring adherence to all legal and environmental regulations relating to the transport, handling, and storage of renewable energy components.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and standards applicable to logistics and renewable energy operations.

Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments for warehouses, transport operations, loading/unloading zones, and project sites.

Monitor and enforce compliance with company safety management systems (SMS) and HSE policies.

Lead incident investigations and report findings with corrective and preventive action plans.

Develop and deliver training programs and safety inductions for logistics personnel, including drivers, crane operators, and warehouse staff.

Maintain accurate safety records including training logs, inspection reports, risk assessments, and incident documentation.

Coordinate with project managers, operations teams, and subcontractors to ensure safety procedures are integrated into all phases of logistics operations.

Promote a safety-first culture through campaigns, toolbox talks, and behavioral safety initiatives.

Assist in the preparation and continuous improvement of safety plans, emergency response procedures, and method statements.

Requirements:

Education & Qualifications:

NEBOSH IGC, OSHA certification, or equivalent recognized safety qualifications.

Additional certification in logistics, transport, or renewable energy is a plus.

Experience:

Familiarity with lifting and rigging safety, heavy transport (e.g., wind turbine blades), and port/yard operations.

Experience with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 systems is preferred.

Languages – Tamil, Hindi and English

Skills:

Strong understanding of relevant local and international safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO, ADR).

Ability to lead training sessions and influence safe behavior.

Strong analytical and reporting skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in MS Office and incident reporting software.
