Job Title: Safety Supervisor

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety management systems and procedures tailored to EMU depot construction activities, including track laying, equipment installation, civil works, and electrical systems.
- Conduct regular on-site safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, non-compliances, and unsafe practices; propose and monitor corrective actions.
- Oversee safety training programs for construction teams, subcontractors, and new employees on topics such as fall protection, heavy machinery operation, electrical safety, and emergency response.
- Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure safety requirements are embedded in project planning and daily operations.
- Investigate safety incidents, near-misses, and accidents promptly; prepare detailed reports, analyze root causes, and recommend preventive measures.
- Ensure compliance with all local, national, and industry-specific safety regulations (e.g., railway safety standards, construction safety codes) and company policies.
- Conduct risk assessments for high-risk construction activities, including overhead work, track maintenance, and equipment hoisting; develop and implement mitigation strategies.
- Monitor proper use, maintenance, and availability of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety devices on-site.
- Organize safety meetings and toolbox talks to promote awareness and build a proactive safety culture across all teams.
- Collaborate with relevant authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth inspections and compliance with statutory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Safety Engineering, Civil Engineering, Railway Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in safety management for construction projects; experience in EMU depot, railway, or large-scale infrastructure projects preferred.
- Possession of professional safety certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or equivalent local qualification.
- Strong understanding of construction safety regulations, railway safety standards, and EMU depot construction processes.
- Proven ability in risk assessment, safety auditing, and incident investigation.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Highly detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working under pressure in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience specifically in EMU depot construction projects.
- Familiarity with international safety management standards (e.g., ISO 45001).
- Experience in developing and mentoring safety teams.
- Knowledge of digital safety management systems and software tools.
