Sales and Marketing Manager

Job Title: Sales & Marketing & Banquet Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for a high-energy, dual-threat Sales & Banquet Manager to drive revenue at our full-service property in Lenexa. This role manages the entire sales lifecycle—from hunting for new corporate and group business to detailing and overseeing the execution of banquet events. The ideal candidate is a proactive closer with a mastery of Opera Cloud and a passion for delivering seamless guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development: Proactively solicit, negotiate, and confirm new business through outside sales calls, site tours, and networking within the Lenexa/KC market.
  • Segment Management: Direct ownership of Group Room Blocks, Corporate Negotiated Rates, and Banquet/Catering revenue.
  • System Management: Utilize Opera Cloud to manage profiles, reservations, blocks, and guest preferences with high accuracy.
  • Event Detailing: Create detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and resumes; lead weekly BEO meetings to ensure the operations team is aligned for flawless execution.
  • Revenue Optimization: Work closely with the General Manager to implement pricing strategies that maximize RevPAR and food & beverage margins.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years of Sales & Catering experience in a full-service hotel environment.
  • Technical Skills: Must be proficient in Opera Cloud. Experience with sales CRM tools is highly preferred.
  • Communication: Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to present the property to C-suite executives and wedding planners alike.
  • Availability: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends based on event volume.
