Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Cashier/Sales associate to join our team in a dynamic retail environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in cashiering and retail sales, with a strong focus on providing exceptional customer service. This role involves operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, handling cash transactions, and assisting customers with their purchases while promoting products effectively. Must be able to work both weekend days to get 40 hours.

Responsibilities

• Operate the POS system efficiently to process transactions accurately.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering inquiries, and addressing concerns.
• Assist with merchandising and stocking shelves to ensure product availability and organization.
• Conduct product demonstrations to enhance customer engagement and drive sales.
• Utilize upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities during customer interactions.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area while ensuring compliance with store policies.
• Handle cash transactions responsibly, ensuring accurate cash handling practices are followed.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and maintain high standards of store presentation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in cashiering or retail sales is preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers.
• Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations.
• Experience with POS systems is a plus; familiarity with grocery store operations is beneficial.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, as this can enhance customer interactions.
• Supervising experience is an advantage for those looking to grow within the company.
• Knowledge of merchandising techniques and product stocking best practices is desirable.
