Job Summary:

The Sales Audit Analyst will conduct tender verification, research, and resolution across multiple systems. This role will also prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations and journal entries as needed, and analyze data integrity throughout systems. Additionally, this position will support audits, projects, and operational activities.


Responsibilities:

Key Accountabilities:
  • Analyze and review daily sales and tender transactions, ensure supporting documentation is appropriate, and perform account reconciliations.
  • Create reports that provide variance analyses or trends, which may indicate system or store-level issues.
  • Download data files from various websites and systems into the central sales audit and/or G/L system.
  • Assist with system enhancements and implementations.
  • Ensure accounting entries are prepared and posted correctly, and that the resulting accounting treatment and G/L balances comply with GAAP and company revenue recognition policies.
  • Oversee the write-off process by gathering and analyzing data, proposing entries, submitting them to the supervisor for approval, and ensuring they are posted accurately.
  • Complete account reconciliations.
  • Assist with forecasting using past and current data analysis, industry trends, and company business plans.
  • Collaborate and communicate with Loss Prevention and Operations on store-related issues and opportunities.
  • Help with journal entries, accruals, and weekly/monthly reports.
  • Report any suspicious activity or potential ethics violations to senior management.
  • Run various complex reports, perform ad hoc calculations, financial models, data queries, and other special projects as needed.
  • Handle additional tasks and projects as assigned.
  • Suggest and implement ongoing process improvements.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting, Business, or related fields.
  • Over 3 years of experience in finance, banking, or data analysis; retail experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of or experience with general accounting and associated processes.
