The Sales Director is responsible for developing and executing the organization’s overall sales strategy to drive revenue growth, market expansion, and customer acquisition. This role provides strategic leadership to the sales function, manages high-value client relationships, and ensures alignment of sales initiatives with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement short- and long-term sales strategies aligned with company goals.
- Lead, mentor, and manage sales managers, regional heads, and sales department.
- Set sales targets, KPIs, and performance benchmarks across teams.
Revenue Growth & Business Development
- Drive revenue growth through new business development, key accounts, and strategic partnerships.
- Identify new markets, channels, and customer segments.
- Oversee pricing strategies, proposals, negotiations, and contract closures.
Client & Key Account Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key corporate clients, investors, and stakeholders.
- Lead high-level negotiations and handle major deals and escalations.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term client retention.
Sales Planning, Forecasting & Reporting
- Prepare and manage annual sales budgets, forecasts, and pipelines.
- Monitor sales performance through CRM systems and analytics.
- Present regular sales performance reports to senior management.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with marketing, finance, legal, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives.
- Support product launches, campaigns, and promotional activities.
Compliance & Process Improvement
- Ensure adherence to company policies, ethical sales practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Continuously improve sales processes, tools, and systems for higher efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 12–18 years of progressive experience in sales, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets.
- Experience in real estate, infrastructure, construction, FMCG, or B2B sales is preferred.
