Position Overview
The Sales Intern: Quotations & Customer Management will work closely with the Sales team to support the end-to-end quotation process for inbound shipments. This role offers a structured, hands-on learning experience within a professional freight forwarding and logistics environment. The intern will develop practical skills in pricing, customer communication, and sales coordination, preparing them for a full-time career in commercial logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and competitive customer quotations for inbound air, sea, and road freight shipments.
- Liaise with the operations and pricing teams to gather rate information and ensure quotation accuracy.
- Follow up with customers on submitted quotations, address queries, and assist in converting leads into confirmed bookings.
- Maintain a well-organized quotation tracker to monitor outstanding, accepted, and lost quotations.
- Understand client-specific requirements including cargo type, origin, destination, and delivery timelines.
- Assist in maintaining up-to-date customer records and communication logs in the CRM system.
- Support the team in identifying and reporting market rate trends and competitor pricing.
- Coordinate with the operations team to ensure smooth handover once a quotation is confirmed.
- Participate in internal sales meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews.
- Perform any other task or duty as assigned by the direct line manager.
Eligibility & Requirements
- Recent university graduate (preferably in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field).
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Urdu.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- A proactive attitude with eagerness to learn and grow within the logistics industry.
- No prior experience required; fresh graduates and final-year students are encouraged to apply.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the internship, the candidate will have gained:
- Hands-on experience in freight pricing and quotation management.
- Understanding of inbound logistics processes including air, sea, and road freight.
- Practical exposure to CRM tools and sales pipeline management.
- Professional communication and client-handling skills.
- Foundational knowledge required to transition into a Junior Sales Agent role.
Internship Structure
- Month 1–2: Orientation, training on freight services, shadowing Senior Sales Agents, and learning the quotation process.
- Month 3–4: Independent handling of quotations under supervision, customer follow-ups, and CRM data entry.
- Month 5–6: Full participation in day-to-day sales activities, performance review, and evaluation for potential full-time placement.
