Job Purpose
In order to make recommendations that maintain the hotel's position as a market leader by cultivating future and repeat business, a Sales Manager studies regional market trends and rival activities.
What will I be doing?
In your capacity as a Sales Manager , you will research industry trends and rival activities to make recommendations for tactics that will maintain the hotel's position as a market leader by cultivating repeat and future business. You will specifically be in charge of completing the following duties to the greatest possible standard:
- Analysis local market trends and competitor activity to identify business leads.
- Develop customer accounts and travel within the local area to drive business into the specific hotel/cluster and to increase market/customer share in all revenue streams.
- Negotiate events rates/packages with corporate clients.
- Develop and implement creative local marketing channels, including social media channels.
- Prepare company contracts for the hotel in accordance with current business and pricing conditions.
- Work within current business strategies and recognizing potential opportunities.
- Cooperate with other departments in the resort to create an exceptional Guest experience and build strong, comprehensive sales & marketing programs.
- Attend Sales & Marketing events, as required.
- Produce accurate and timely reports that meet the needs of the senior management to include the reporting of appointments, calls made and business leads.
- Answer customer queries in a prompt and professional manner.
- Supervising and directing photography for advertising, collaterals and public relations purposes in liaison with the Marketing Manager, the Advertising Agency and the Marketing/Brand Standards department at Corporate Office.
- Ensuring the department has a comprehensive master slide library for all advertising, collaterals and public relations activities and regularly sends these slides to Corporate Office for the image library.
- Acting as official spokesperson for the hotel when appropriate and responds to all media requests within 24 hours.
- Maintaining budget control and avoiding duplication in advertising visuals by channeling media placements through the creative agency or with available internal resources.
- Ensuring the hotel information is updated regularly on the Internet.
- Creating Social Media marketing plans.
- Constant follow-up on tentative/ request events to secure confirmation.
- Full compliance with Sales/events Service Standard.
- Supervising the handling of the resort Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and any other social media corporate accounts.
