Sales Manager - Instrumentation Sales

India

Job description:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales Manager to drive business growth in the Instrumentation sector. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in Instruments sales, strong market understanding, and excellent client relationship management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Process Monitoring segment

Develop and maintain relationships with key customers in Oil, Gas, Steel, Power and Water Industries

Prepare sales forecasts, proposals, and reports

Lead the regional sales strategy and execution

Coordinate with technical and project teams to ensure customer satisfaction

Requirements:

B.Tech. degree in a relevant discipline

Minimum 3-4 years of experience in B2B or project sales, preferably in Instruments sales like Flow, Level, Temperature & Pressure instruments.

Strong communication and negotiation skills

Preference will be given to candidates knows Telugu

Sales Strategy & Business Growth

How do you identify and pursue new business opportunities in industrial segments?

What steps do you take to develop long-term relationships with key customers?

Can you describe a time when you revived or grew business from a dormant customer?

How do you balance hunting new clients vs. farming existing accounts?

How do you prepare and present sales proposals/quotations to technical and procurement teams?

Client Handling & Negotiation

Give an example of a challenging negotiation you handled. What was the outcome?

How do you manage situations when clients demand aggressive discounts?

Describe how you’ve worked with decision-makers in large organizations (e.g., PSU, EPC contractors, or government bodies).

Have you ever lost a deal? What did you learn from it?

How do you ensure customer satisfaction post-sales in coordination with technical/project teams?

Technical & Educational Fit

Do you hold a B.Tech. degree? In which discipline?

Are you familiar with technical specifications, datasheets, and tenders for instrumentation products?

What tools/software do you use for sales reporting, CRM, or pipeline tracking?

Have you worked with channel partners/distributors in sales? If yes, explain your approach.

Regional/Language Preference

Are you fluent in Telugu? (Preferred for local client communication)

Which other languages can you comfortably conduct business in (English, Hindi, etc.)?

Scenario-Based Questions

A client is interested in your product but says your competitor is 15% cheaper. How would you respond?

Your quarterly target is high, but a key deal is delayed. How do you plan to still meet your target?

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹250,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
