Our goal is to achieve 85% of our new business through Upwork, and we are seeking a driven professional who excels at navigating this marketplace to secure high-value contracts.

Your Mission

  • Own the Upwork Revenue Funnel: Manage keyword optimization, proposal crafting, bid strategy, interviews, and closing deals.
  • Achieve High Success Rates: Maintain a reply rate of over 90% and a close rate of over 25% on submitted proposals.
  • Build Client Relationships: Develop a pipeline of repeat clients both on Upwork and outside; upsell and cross-sell new services.
  • Ensure Quality Assurance: Make and Keep our Top-Rated Plus badge by facilitating seamless transitions to delivery teams.
  • Track Performance Metrics: Monitor weekly KPIs in CRM, including calls, deal value, win rates, and time-to-close.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Job Feed Monitoring: Quickly scan Upwork job postings within 15 minutes of release to identify valuable RFPs.
  • Proposal Writing: Craft hyper-personalized, three-part proposals (pain → solution → proof) in clear, persuasive English.
  • Client Discovery Calls: Conduct 15-30 minute Zoom calls to create Statements of Work (SOWs), milestone plans, and fixed-price quotes.
  • Negotiation: Secure terms that maintain a gross margin of 35% or higher.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work with internal tech and research leads to develop case studies, portfolio pieces, and Upwork specialist profiles.
  • Leverage Testimonials: Collect and utilize client testimonials to access Agency Plus perks (Rising Talent, invite-only projects).
  • Stay Updated: Keep abreast of Upwork algorithms, connects pricing, and competitor pricing strategies.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in business development, with a focus on closing deals on Upwork (provide screenshots or earnings dashboard).
  • Sales Record: Proven lifetime sales of 30k USD + on Upwork OR consistent monthly income of 5k USD for the last 6 months.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent English (written and spoken) – CEFR C1 or higher.
  • Technical Skills: Comfortable with CRM management, cold emailing, LinkedIn outreach, and basic sales metrics.
  • Self-Starter Attitude: Ability to work independently during CET/EST overlap without supervision.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Industry Experience: Background in selling custom software development services, SaaS, AI, or data science projects.
  • Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with HubSpot, Apollo, Loom, Calendly, and Notion.
  • Network: Existing Upwork agency connections or a Top-Rated freelancer profile available for transfer.

Hiring Process

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs70,000.00 - Rs200,000.00 per month
