About the Role
The Salesforce Developer / Engineer is responsible for the design, development, enhancement, and ongoing support of the firm's Salesforce ecosystem, serving as a core platform for client relationship management and professional services automation. This India-based role supports a global firm, working closely with stakeholders and technology teams across the United States, United Kingdom, and India.
This role requires a strong balance of hands-on Salesforce development expertise, platform awareness, and collaborative problem-solving. The Salesforce Developer / Engineer is expected to not only build and configure solutions, but also actively participate in requirements discussions, propose scalable designs, and ensure solutions align with platform capabilities, security standards, and long-term organizational growth.
As the firm continues to expand its Salesforce and Certinia footprint, this role will play a key part in evolving the platform in a secure, scalable, and maintainable way. While Salesforce is the primary focus, the role is intentionally designed for engineers who are open to being multi-disciplinary and contributing to broader development, automation, and integration initiatives across the firm.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Salesforce solutions using Salesforce Flow, Apex, and Lightning Web Components (LWC).
- Collaborate with global stakeholders to gather requirements, ask clarifying questions, and help translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
- Perform configuration and development tasks across the Salesforce platform, including objects, fields, validation rules, automation, and security controls.
- Engineer solutions that align with Salesforce platform capabilities, limitations, performance considerations, and scalability requirements.
- Develop and maintain Apex test coverage and support regression testing efforts to ensure high-quality, production-ready deployments.
- Participate in structured promotion processes across development, QA, UAT, and production environments.
- Leverage source control, peer reviews, and code reviews to ensure consistency, quality, and maintainability of solutions.
- Document technical designs, implementation details, and operational considerations to support long-term platform sustainability.
- Actively consider security implications of all changes, identify potential risks, and collaborate with the firm's security team to design secure-by-default solutions.
- Support Certinia (PSA)–related enhancements and integrations as needed, based on business priorities.
- Contribute to cross-functional development initiatives beyond Salesforce, including automation, integrations, and scripting, as organizational needs evolve.
- Collaborate effectively across time zones, participating in planned meetings such as sprint planning and design discussions.
- Remain current on Salesforce platform updates, ecosystem changes, and best practices, and proactively recommend improvements.
- Respond to development-related tickets, enhancements, and other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experiencein an enterprise environment.
- Strong expertise in Salesforce Flow, Apex development, and Lightning Web Components (LWC).
- Solid understanding of Salesforce administration fundamentals, including data model design, configuration, and automation.
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce security concepts, including profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, and access controls.
- Experience working within a structured software development lifecycle (SDLC), including development, testing, deployment, and documentation.
- Familiarity with multi-environment Salesforce deployments (Dev, QA, UAT, Production) and controlled release processes.
- Experience using source control systems and participating in peer and code review processes.
- Ability to write clear technical documentation and communicate designs effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to collaborate with globally distributed teams across multiple time zones.
- Comfort working in agile or iterative delivery models.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate requirements, identify platform constraints, and engineer practical solutions.
- Demonstrated curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to learn beyond a single platform or technology.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience with Certinia (formerly FinancialForce) PSA configuration or development is a plus.
- Exposure to integrations, APIs, or middleware platforms is beneficial.
- Experience writing scripts or automations using languages such as Python is desirable.
- Salesforce certifications (e.g., Platform Developer, Administrator) are a plus but not required.
- Prior experience contributing to multi-platform or cross-functional development initiatives.
- Familiarity with secure application design principles and collaboration with security teams.
