We are seeking an experienced and hands-on SAP Functional Support Manager to lead the daily operations of our SAP application support team. This role is critical in overseeing the delivery, governance, and continuous improvement of SAP support services across key functional areas such as OTC, FICO, and Supply Chain.

The ideal candidate is a techno-functional leader who can manage a high-volume support environment, serve as the escalation point for incidents, and drive operational excellence through knowledge management, process improvements, and team mentorship.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Lead Enhancement Delivery

  • Manage end-to-end delivery of SAP enhancements across modules (SD, MM, PP, FICO, etc.)
  • Prioritize requests based on business urgency, impact, and capacity
  • Ensure enhancements follow standard SAP processes and best practices

2. Stakeholder & Business Partnership

  • Work closely with business owners to understand requirements and value drivers
  • Translate business needs into SAP functional specifications
  • Communicate status, risks, and timelines proactively

3. Cross-Functional SAP Coordination

  • Coordinate across multiple SAP modules and integration points
  • Ensure enhancements consider cross-functional impacts
  • Partner with architects, BASIS, security, and integration teams as needed

4. Functional Governance & Standards

  • Ensure adherence to SAP standards, change control, and documentation requirements
  • Maintain consistency in solution design, configuration, and testing
  • Drive process discipline and quality in enhancement delivery

5. Decision-Making & Issue Resolution

  • Make informed decisions balancing business urgency, risk, and system integrity
  • Act as escalation point for functional issues and bottlenecks
  • Manage conflicts and trade-offs effectively

6. Team Mentorship & Capability Building

  • Guide and support SAP functional analysts and developers
  • Review functional design documents and provide quality checks
  • Build SAP functional capability and foster continuous learning

7. Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes & reduce technical debt
  • Promote automation, standardization, and system usability
  • Improve enhancement delivery cycle time and quality


Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.

  • 8+ years of hands-on SAP experience, including at least 3+ years in a support/AMS leadership or team lead role.
  • Deep functional knowledge of at least two SAP modules (e.g., SD, MM, FICO, WM).
  • Technical understanding of SAP interfaces (IDoc, PI/PO, RFCs, BAPIs), batch jobs, and transport mechanisms.
  • Experience with incident management systems (e.g., ServiceNow), SLA tracking, and performance dashboards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to drive RCA and cross-functional resolution.
  • Prior involvement in SAP upgrades or enhancement projects.
  • ITIL Foundation Certification or equivalent process maturity experience.
  • Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager or other documentation platforms.
