Job Summary:
Responsible for estimating, planning, controlling, and optimising the use of formwork and scaffolding across multiple construction projects. The role will coordinate closely with Project Managers, site teams, and inventory control to ensure accurate rental ordering, timely returns, and zero cost leakage from unused materials. The position will also function as an inventory specialist for other project materials, ensuring proper tracking, utilization, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimate formwork and scaffolding requirements for each project based on drawings, BOQs, method statements, and construction schedules
- Coordinate with Project Managers and site engineers to finalize quantities, phasing, and duration of formwork and scaffolding usage
- Prepare and place rental orders for formwork and scaffolding in line with approved requirements and project timelines
- Monitor actual usage on site versus planned quantities and identify excess, shortages, or idle materials
- Plan and coordinate the timely return of unused or no-longer-required formwork and scaffolding to avoid unnecessary rental charges
- Maintain full ownership of rented formwork and scaffolding from delivery to return, ensuring accountability at all times
- Track rental periods, delivery notes, return notes, and supplier invoices to ensure charges are accurate and aligned with actual site usage
- Liaise with suppliers to resolve discrepancies related to quantities, rental duration, damages, or incorrect billing
- Conduct periodic site inspections to verify physical presence and utilization of formwork and scaffolding
- Coordinate with project inventory and project management teams to maintain accurate material movement records
- Maintain updated logs for formwork and scaffolding movements, usage status, and availability across projects
- Act as inventory specialist for other construction materials, supporting tracking, issuance, reconciliation, and reporting
- Identify opportunities to optimize material usage and reduce rental and inventory holding costs
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and project documentation requirements related to formwork and scaffolding
Qualifications and Experience: •
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in construction projects with direct involvement in formwork, scaffolding, or construction material control
- Strong understanding of formwork and scaffolding systems, quantities, usage cycles, and site operations • Proficient in inventory management software (ERP systems preferred, e.g., Oracle, SAP, or specialized construction inventory modules).
