Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of our preschools, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting processes. Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring performance against budget and providing variance analysis.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage all accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Payroll Processing: Oversee payroll processing, including salary disbursements, tax withholdings, and benefit deductions.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
- Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
- Audit Preparation: Coordinate and prepare for internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and information.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning within the organization.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
- Cost Control: Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a school or educational setting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling financial information.
