Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic School Age Before and After School Care Teacher to join our team. This role is essential in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children during the critical hours before and after school. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, strong classroom management skills, and the ability to foster positive relationships with students and their families. Great job for a student looking for a part time job after school. Applicant must be 18 or older and previous experience with kids.

Duties

  • Supervise and engage children in various activities before and after school, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Implement structured programs that promote social, emotional, and physical development through play, sports, arts, and educational activities.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive reinforcement techniques and behavior management strategies.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and any concerns that may arise.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive learning environment that supports each child's individual needs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized space conducive to learning and play.
  • Stay informed about child development practices and participate in ongoing training opportunities.

Skills

  • Strong classroom management abilities to maintain a positive learning environment.
  • First aid certification is preferred to ensure the safety of all students.
  • Experience working with children in various settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or sports coaching is highly valued.
  • Background in special education or early childhood education is a plus.
  • Familiarity with childhood development principles to support age-appropriate activities.
  • Ability to implement behavior management techniques effectively.
  • Experience in roles such as babysitting or theater can enhance engagement strategies with children.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
