Description

Under the direction and supervision of the Senior Youth & Family Director and/or School Age Child Care and Camp Director in accordance with the nature and policies of the Geneva Lakes Family YMCA, the School Age Child Care Site Coordinator is responsible for, supervision and implementation of the YBASE and Wrap Around programs on site at Turtle Creek and School Day Out YMCA programming location. Hours will vary approximately 25-29 hours weekly.

Requirements

• Identify priorities, plan, develop, supervise and implement the program activities at the site.
• Manage curriculum planning for the site. Produce lists of supplies and equipment needs.
• Confer with parents on behavior, health and development of their child. Develop and distribute parent communications and reporting to Sr. Youth & Family Director on all disciplinary actions.
• Serve on-site as a lead staff; make ongoing systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
• Obtain and update all registrations, contracts, release forms, and emergency forms that pertain to administration of the YBASE program at the site.
• Maintain required program records such as attendance, daily schedules and rosters.
• Maintain clean and well-organized work and program spaces at all times.
• Uphold and exemplify the policies and guidelines of the Geneva Lakes Family YMCA at all times.
• Follow emergency procedures to insure the safety of all children. Communicate with the Director regarding any emergency concern or situation.
• Perform other duties and attend meetings as deemed necessary by the Senior Youth & Family Director.
  
  

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent. Experience as a teacher or assistant teacher in a licensed childcare center preferred.
• Must possess oral, auditory and written communication skills appropriate for interacting with both children and adults.
• Must complete and clear a background/criminal history check.
• Post hire: completion of child abuse prevention and blood borne pathogen courses.
• Current Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred, can obtain upon hire.
