School-Age/Recreational Educator

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic School-Age/Recreational Educator to inspire and engage children in a vibrant, nurturing environment. Duties

• Develop and facilitate engaging recreational activities tailored to school-age children, including sports, arts, theater, and group games
• Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management strategies to ensure a safe and respectful environment
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring safety at all times
• Implement curriculum plans that support early childhood education principles and childhood development milestones
• Provide first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any health or safety concerns
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and caregivers to support each child's individual needs, including those requiring special education accommodations
• Lead tutoring sessions or homework assistance to reinforce learning and academic skills
• Incorporate Christian counseling principles where appropriate to promote positive character development

Experience

• Prior experience working with children in daycare, camp, babysitting, or recreational settings is highly preferred
• Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
• Experience in teaching or tutoring children across various age groups is advantageous
• Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or childhood development are a plus
• Familiarity with sports coaching, theater arts, or other extracurricular activities enhances your ability to create diverse programming
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children of different backgrounds and needs
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with families, colleagues, and community partners

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
