Duties

  • Plan and facilitate a variety of age-appropriate activities including sports, arts, theater, and educational games to ensure an exciting camp experience.
  • Manage group dynamics through effective classroom management and behavior management techniques to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
  • Provide first aid when necessary, ensuring the health and safety of all campers at all times.
  • Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance by implementing inclusive strategies aligned with childhood development principles.
  • Collaborate with fellow staff members to coordinate daily schedules, monitor progress, and adapt activities to meet diverse needs.
  • Foster positive relationships with children by encouraging participation, promoting teamwork, and offering guidance rooted in Christian counseling or similar supportive approaches.
  • Maintain clear communication with parents or guardians regarding camper well-being and camp activities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or camp environments is highly desirable.
  • Strong skills in classroom management and behavior management to create a nurturing yet structured atmosphere.
  • Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain certification prior to camp start date is required.
  • Knowledge of early childhood education, childhood development, or special education enhances your ability to support diverse learners.
  • Passion for working with children and a positive attitude that inspires confidence and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to lead physical activities such as sports coaching or outdoor games safely and effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members in a professional manner.
