Scrap Buying Lead/ Assistant Manager - Field Based Role

Overview Source recyclable materials from industries and commercial sites at the right price and quality. This is a field role, you will visit factories, warehouses, and collection points, verify grades and contamination, agree specs on site, and coordinate pickups with operations. Keep margins healthy and records complete.

Key responsibilities, buying side

• Map and onboard supply sources, textiles, food and beverage, retail distribution, hotels, malls, SMEs
• Inspect material quality on site, agree bale or loose specs, capture photos and simple tests
• Track market rates daily by grade and area, maintain a live buy price sheet
• Negotiate site level buy prices and payment terms, target margin contribution per tonne
• Secure supply through MOUs or short forms, set pickup rhythm and basic service levels
• Maintain supplier relationships, resolve disputes, and keep documentation tidy

Must have

• Two or more years in waste trading, scrap, recycling, or materials procurement in Pakistan
• Strong knowledge of Karachi market rates, grades, and supplier behaviour
• Willing and able to work in the field, factory floors, yards, and warehouses
• Reliable transport in Karachi and use of basic PPE where required
• Negotiation discipline with written offers, counteroffers, and clear terms
• Comfort with Google Sheets, WhatsApp, and basic traceability documentation
• Clear communication in English and Urdu, regional language is an advantage

Nice to have

• Existing network of suppliers in Karachi and Sindh
• Experience with exporters and quality testing
• Familiarity with compliance, permissions, and simple service agreements

KPIs

• Tonnes sourced by grade each week
• Average buy price versus market benchmark
• Gross margin contribution per tonne on procured lots
• Days from lead to first pickup
• Disputes resolved within agreed time and full data completeness

Compensation Market salary or contractor fee, performance bonus linked to weekly margin and volumes

Pay: Rs40,000.00 - Rs70,000.00 per month
