SEO Strategist (Contract – Maternity Leave Coverage)

Location: Remote (CST hours preferred)

Duration: 5 months

Target Start: early to mid December

Type: W2 Contract

Hours: 25–28 per week


We’re hiring an experienced SEO Strategist to support a maternity leave coverage. This role is ideal for someone with agency experience, strong client communication skills, and the ability to lead and delegate effectively. You’ll be stepping into a well-established role with a transition period for onboarding and access to extensive resources.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead SEO strategy and execution for select client accounts
  • Manage client communications with a high level of responsiveness and professionalism
  • Collaborate with internal teams and delegate tasks to a direct report
  • Conduct audits, identify opportunities, and guide implementation with technical teams
  • Present data-driven insights and recommendations to clients
  • Stay current on SEO trends and tools, applying best practices to drive performance


Requirements:

  • 4–5+ years of SEO experience, preferably in an agency environment
  • Strong understanding of technical SEO and ability to communicate concepts clearly to clients
  • Experience managing high-profile accounts with a service-first mindset
  • Proficiency in Asana
  • Proven ability to lead or mentor team members
  • Proficiency in SEO tools such as Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, etc.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and proposing solutions proactively
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience with Google Analytics and data reporting tools
