The role:

You'll work across the platform stack, and you'll be the person nudging us to make AI a practical, everyday part of how we build and operate. You'll spot where AI can make the platform and the teams on it faster, from AI-assisted developer tooling to agents that take real work off people's plates, and you'll help turn those ideas into things people use, with the guardrails and cost controls that make them safe to run. 


What you'll get to do in the role:
<ul>
<li>Build and maintain the cloud infrastructure and tooling our product teams rely on, across compute, networking, CI/CD, and deployment on Kubernetes or Cloud Run.</li>
<li>Champion AI agent adoption across the platform: spot where agents can take on real work, prototype it, and turn the promising work into supported, reusable capabilities teams can build on.</li>
<li>Build the foundations for AI agents: integrations with Claude, the tools and services agents call, and the orchestration that ties them together.</li>
<li>Wire observability, guardrails, and cost controls into the AI agents and tooling we run, so they stay safe and predictable in production.</li>
<li>Work hands-on with the AI tooling and agent frameworks we build on &mdash; Claude in particular, which we use extensively &mdash; and bring what you learn back to the wider team.</li>
<li>Manage infrastructure with Terraform, keeping environments consistent, auditable, and reproducible.</li>
<li>Contribute to our Azure-to-GCP migration thinking, especially what it means for our AI tooling and agents.</li>
<li>Partner with product engineers to lower the barrier to using AI, writing the docs, templates, and examples that drive adoption.</li></ul> 


What we think you'll need:

<li>Genuine enthusiasm for AI agents and a desire to help us adopt them well. You don't need a machine-learning or model-training background &mdash; this is about building with tools like Claude, not training or serving models &mdash; but you should be keen to learn and to lead by doing.</li>
<li>Strong GCP experience (Azure experience is nice to have)</li>
<li>Comfortable with containerisation (Docker) and deployment on Kubernetes or Cloud Run.</li>
<li>Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform.</li>
<li>Proficient in at least one of .NET (C#), Node.js, or Python.</li>
<li>Observability experience with Datadog or cloud-native logging and monitoring (GCP Cloud Operations or Azure Monitor).</li>

The role: 
 
Joining our Cloud Platform team as a Lead DevEx Engineer, you will play a key role in improving how engineers build, ship and operate services across Liberis. This is a brand new role created to bridge the gap between application development and platform engineering - creating a more consistent, scalable developer experience as we continue to evolve our platform strategy. 
 
You will focus on building for engineers - creating and shaping the templates, standards and foundations used across services. Alongside this, you will have the opportunity to contribute to emerging platform initiatives, including work that supports AI enablement across the engineering organisation. 
 
This is a high-impact role with real scope to influence how engineering works at Liberis! 


What you'll get to do in the role:
<ul>
<li>Own and evolve the service template library for .NET, Node.js, and Python &mdash; covering project scaffolding, dependency management, containerisation, local dev setup, and production configuration. Templates are generated, not forked, so keeping them current and opinionated matters.</li>
<li>Build and maintain CI/CD pipeline templates in GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps, covering build, test, security scanning, and deployment &mdash; consistent across stacks and reusable across teams.</li>
<li>Define and ship observability standards: structured logging, distributed tracing, and alerting integrated into service templates so every new service is production-ready from day one.</li>
<li>Work hands-on with Datadog, incident.io, and/or GCP/Azure-native logging and monitoring tooling to build the platform-level observability layer teams plug into.</li>
<li>Contribute to our thinking on a potential Azure-to-GCP migration &mdash; helping assess what changes for developer tooling and service templates and building proof-of-concept work that informs the decision.</li>
<li>Partner with product engineers to understand where developer experience breaks down &mdash; slow pipelines, confusing templates, missing runbooks &mdash; and fix the root causes, not the symptoms.</li>
<li>Lead technical decisions on platform tooling: evaluate new tools, write ADRs, and drive adoption of improvements across multiple engineering teams.</li>
<li>Mentor engineers in the Cloud Platform team and act as a go-to resource for product engineers getting to grips with platform tooling.</li></ul>
