The Public Awareness Intern will support the Public Awareness Specialist, Field Specialists and HSE Manager to ensure that compliant Public Awareness methods and practices are used consistently throughout the company. Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li><p>
Work with Public Awareness Specialist to ensure compliance, standardization and consistency of Public Awareness program, processes and procedures for all domestic operations. Support to include assurance towards standardization of processes, training curriculum, and procedures involved with damage prevention, public awareness and other asset protection activities</p></li><li><p>
Assist in managing Plains&rsquo; First Responder Grant Program and Educational Grant Program by communicating with external stakeholders, compiling/storing documentation, and supporting program administration</p></li><li><p>
Create slide decks consisting of grant applications to be presented during the monthly Grant Program Committee Meeting.</p></li><li><p>
Assist in creating content (including geofencing ads, billboard ads, etc.) and collateral in Canva for supplemental public awareness initiatives</p></li><li><p>
Collaborate with corporate communications partners to deliver robust pipeline safety messaging on digital channels</p></li><li><p>
Assist in the enhancement of our Public Awareness Program (PAP) beyond baseline while maintaining regulatory requirements</p></li><li><p>
Work closely with Public Awareness Specialist to help identify effective Public Awareness Programs and materials used for stakeholder(s) required education</p></li><li><p>
Support Division DPPA Specialists with conducting excavator (contractor) and public awareness education meetings</p></li><li><p>
Participate in face-to-face efforts with stakeholders through Community Outreach program, liaison meetings with emergency and public officials, events, industry efforts, etc.</p></li><li><p>
Supports employees who wish to promote the PAP in their communities and provide information and training materials regarding the PAP</p></li><li><p>

Public Awareness Intern

MD Anderson Cancer Center

<p>A Research Intern position is available in Dr. Ronald DePinho laboratory in the Department of Cancer Biology.<br>
<br>
Our research program focuses on understanding how chromosomal instability (CIN) shapes tumor-immune interactions in colorectal cancer. Using a combination of patient-derived models, genetically engineered mouse models, and molecular and cellular assays, the lab investigates how genomic instability influences tumor progression and immune modulation, with the goal of identifying novel translational vulnerabilities. The research intern will gain hands-on experience in fundamental and advanced experimental techniques commonly used in cancer biology and tumor immunology. The intern will also be exposed to in vitro immunology assays and mouse-based experimental workflows, as well as best practices in experimental design, data analysis, and documentation within a translational cancer research environment. The role will also involve supporting mouse-based experiments, including tissue processing and sample collection.<br>

<b>LEARNING OBJECTIVES</b><br>
Learning objectives include developing proficiency in the establishment, maintenance, freezing, and recovery of tumor organoid cultures; nucleic acid extraction and quantitative PCR; genotyping of mouse and organoid samples; protein analysis techniques including western blotting; and basic molecular biology methods. In addition, the intern will be expected to maintain accurate experimental records, contribute to data analysis and interpretation, and actively participate in lab meetings and collaborative discussions related to ongoing projects.<br>
