About the Role

About The Team

This role sits in the Content team of the Product organization. The Content &amp; Editorial team is responsible for the Angi Solution Center, HomeAdvisor Cost Guide Center, and in-product content that drives business objectives. We are a high-performing editorial team focused on new customer acquisition and growth, setting the content standards and strategy across the user experience through consistent day-to-day management of our 9,000 article library and by implementing new strategies to make our site best-in-class.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will be responsible for the keyword research that defines the direction for all of our content creation, going deep into individual categories to understand the best and most impactful articles we can create. You'll be creating briefs for new content, as well as briefs to suggest improvements to previously published articles based on content best practices, page layout, and competitor research. You'll be mapping content within our categories to ensure we have solid internal linking and relevant content modules. You will work closely with Content Editors and writers (freelance and in-house) to ensure content satisfies user intent by being insightful, useful, relevant, engaging, and ultimately more helpful than any other content online.

In addition to traditional SEO, you will incorporate Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) strategies&mdash;optimizing our content to perform well in AI-driven search and answer engines (such as ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, and Perplexity). <li>Establish and maintain an editorial calendar to ensure timely and relevant content updates.</li>
<li>Define and incorporate audience insights and .EDU performance data to meet audience needs and improve the user experience.</li>
<li>Execute and enhance organic growth initiatives, focusing on improving search reach for strategic pages.</li>
<li>Collaborate with .ORG content lead for any cross-site dependencies or optimizations.</li></ul> 


Editorial and Content Development
<ul>
<li>Serve as the editorial lead for all .EDU content, overseeing the creation and curation of copy, graphics, and multimedia elements to ensure they meet organizational standards and objectives.</li>
<li>Ensure content consistency and quality across all .EDU initiatives, maintaining alignment with the brands voice and strategic goals.</li>
<li>Review and approve final content pieces, ensuring they effectively communicate the intended message and meet high-quality standards.</li>
<li>Lead a team of writers, editors, and other content creators, providing direction and feedback to ensure high-quality and engaging content.</li>
<li>Manage content timelines, workflows, and resource allocations, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.</li>
<li>When needed, ability to craft original content in alignment with project requirements.</li></ul> 


Content Production and Governance
<ul>
<li>Establish content governance processes, guidelines, and standards; develop and communicate content standards and nuances for .EDU as needed.</li>
<li>Collaborate with peers to ensure that all content aligns with NYU Langones broader content strategy to increase reputation and amplify brand.</li>
<li>Become a subject matter expert on the component library in the Drupal content management system to support the development of engaging web experiences. Provide input into future component needs based on an understanding of website functionality gaps.</li>
<li>Evaluate performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) to make data-driven enhancements to site content.</li>
<li>Monitor and improve audience engagement across all .EDU initiatives.</li>
<li>Align SEO, GEO, and AI Search requirements against content strategy and audience needs.</li>
<li>Implement SEO, GEO, and AI Search strategy to optimize content for web platforms, improving organic visibility and driving traffic growth.</li></ul> 


Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
<ul>
<li>Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing technology, IT, brand, and other functional teams to build a world-class website experience.</li>
<li>Partner with fellow content leads to ensure content release schedules are aligned (when required) across all channels to reinforce consistent messaging and user experience.</li>
<li>Foster collaboration with internal and external stakeholders including world-renowned physicians, researchers, and subject matter experts to identify opportunities for new and curated content that meets the needs of various target audiences.</li>
<li>Meet with stakeholders to understand business requirements, and propose possible solutions given current website capabilities, content trends, and best practices.</li>
<li>Collaborate with the Media Relations team to effectively spotlight and optimize communications opportunities for media stories across assigned platforms.</li>
<li>Collaborate with Enterprise Communications team to effectively spotlight and optimize communication opportunities for internal distribution / promotion.</li>
<li>Partner with Brand Standards and Governance Lead to ensure all content aligns with NYU Langones brand guidelines.</li></ul> 


Leadership and Team Development
<ul>
<li>Lead, mentor, and develop a team of content professionals, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.</li>
<li>Set clear performance goals and provide regular feedback and professional development opportunities to team members.</li>
<li>Identify and address skill gaps within the team, facilitating training sessions or recruiting new talent as needed.</li></ul> 


Minimum Qualifications: 
To qualify you must have a 7-10 years of relevant experience in content strategy, website management, educational content development, or a closely related field 
Bachelors degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field 
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail 
Previous experience and/or ability to function as an editorial lead 
Passion for storytelling, content creation, and engaging web audiences 
Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated track record of effective stakeholder management 
Ability to understand and learn from data-driven insights 
Proficiency in leveraging tools and platforms to improve content creation, distribution, and performance tracking 
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team of creative professionals 
Experience working in content management systems (Drupal, Adobe Experience Manager, etc) 
Familiarity with best practices related to UX writing for websites and other digital tools and experiences 
Familiarity with website accessibility guidelines and best practices

Preferred Qualifications: 
Masters degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field 
Experience in content strategy, development, and management within the non-profit sector 
Experience in the healthcare industry, focusing on medical writing and content creation

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $81,325.15 - $115,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
