This includes developing maintenance contracts, specifications, engineering plans, and maintenance standards for various MBTA facility assets such as stations, administrative buildings, vehicle maintenance facilities, and system-wide support buildings. Additionally, the Engineer will actively participate in the development of capital improvement projects for a variety of engineering and maintenance initiatives. As part of this role, the Engineer will conduct comprehensive studies, surveys, and cost estimates for these projects. Furthermore, the Engineer will be responsible for assessing the existing assets, considering their condition, maintainability, replicability, and operational requirements. This assessment will guide the collaboration with management and trade staff to determine the appropriate actions, whether it be maintenance, repair, or asset replacement, to ensure optimal operational efficiency.</p></div><p></p>

<p></p><div><ul><li>Oversee the operation and maintenance of HVAC systems and/or fire protection systems, ensuring they meet safety standards and preventative maintenance contracts are managed effectively.</li><li>
Develop and/or prepare technical specifications for maintenance contracts.</li><li>
Responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance aspects of all building systems including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, building/energy, and management systems, ensuring all systems are maintained in first class condition.</li><li>
Conduct periodic inspection and audits to confirm compliance with operations and maintenance programs including corrective maintenance calls, preventative maintenance, safety programs, or hazardous materials.</li><li>
Identify and implement energy-saving measures within HVAC systems, such as energy-efficient equipment, smart thermostats, and building automation systems.</li><li>
Review and/or develop Asset Management Plans and Preventive Maintenance and Inspection for certain asset types.</li><li>
Experience with Enterprise Asset Management Systems (EAMS) or Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).</li><li>
Review Preventative and corrective maintenance work orders, identifying areas for improvement and assets for replacements.</li><li>
Participate in design reviews, project design groups and review drawings or specifications for Capital Programs performed by consultants, contractors, and MBTA engineering staff.</li><li>
Develop preliminary engineering designs, specifications, and standards for repair/reconstruction tasks by internal MBTA forces.</li><li>
Conduct site inspections of systems and materials to verify quality; and prepare required reports.</li><li>
Responsible for supporting facility mechanical systems such as HVAC systems, tunnel ventilation systems, fire suppression systems, plumbing, and sanitary systems.</li><li>
Provides engineering data for the preparation and review of engineering or environmental reports and studies.</li><li>
Write memoranda, letters, and reports to supervisors concerning the status of engineering projects or problems.</li><li>
Respond to each inquiry, whether from a customer, vendor or co-worker in a courteous and professional manner consistent with the Authority&rsquo;s driven by customer service quality standard.</li><li>

Working Conditions

Also, it requires gas bottle changes and cleaning of contaminated components in a flow hood as part of assembly rebuilds. <li>Conduct patent research as it pertains to art searches, drafting, and prosecuting patent applications.</li>
<li>Provide guidance on patentability and infringement issues.</li>
<li>Provide research and technical guidance on supply chain threats including cybersecurity threats, fraud, company profiling, and counterfeit parts for avoidance.</li>
<li>Provide technical guidance to team on raw material usage, semiconductor fabrication process, packaging and any other technical guidance as necessary.</li>
<li>Provide insightful, well-researched analysis of key analytic findings and guidance to clients with regard to supply chain risk mitigation.</li>
