 NYUAD Water Research Center at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a research scientist to work on the development of membrane desalination to treat water from the Arabian Gulf feed sources and on the design and scale-up of low energy membranes for water purification, under the supervision of Professor Nidal Hilal, Director of the Water Research Center and Global Professor of Engineering.
 
 
 The successful applicant will drive an exciting project on developing functional membrane materials, including nanostructured polymer membranes tailored to microfiltration, ultrafiltration, membrane distillation, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis. The candidate will employ advanced membrane fabrication techniques and characterization tools (SEM, TEM, DSC, TGA, BET, etc.) to establish fabrication-structure-property-performance relationships in novel materials for sustainable desalination and water treatment. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists and engineers, graduate students and undergraduate students.
 
 
 The successful applicant will manage projects and work closely with postdoctoral researchers, build deep technical knowledge and develop transferable solutions. He/she will be involved in writing reports, authoring publications, drafting patents and presenting results at conferences. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated knowledge of materials science and engineering, membrane fabrication techniques, membrane characterization tools and separation processes.  The successful candidate will lead innovative and interdisciplinary research focused on optimizing the application of responsive covalent organic frameworks (COFs) for diverse challenges in water treatment, health, and energy. This role will emphasize the directed synthesis and structural design of COFs tailored to achieve high selectivity and efficiency in targeted applications. In particular, the candidate will develop COFs engineered for the selective removal of specific contaminants from water, and will conduct comprehensive mechanistic studies of their molecular interactions with a range of emerging pollutants, including pharmaceuticals, endocrine disruptors, and persistent organic compounds.  The research group of Prof. Gelfand in the Division of, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a research scientist to work on the visualization and analysis of optical spectroscopic integral field unit (IFU) data. The successful applicant will become a member of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) V project Local Volume Mapper (LVM), which is currently conducting the large optical spectroscopic survey of the Milky Way and Magellanic Clouds. In addition to working with the LVM team of the reduction of this data, in particular the visualization tools needed to effectively disseminate this data to the broader scientific community. In addition to work on LVM, the successful applicant is expected to contribute to ongoing optical spectroscopic studies of high-energy astrophysical sources &ndash; including active galactic nuclei (AGN) and supernova remnant (SNRs) &ndash; as well as lead their own research projects.

 The Micro- and Nanoscale Bioengineering Lab (MNBL) at New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking to recruit a research assistant to study various human diseases using an organ/organoid-on-a-chip approach. Applicants with a strong background in designing and fabricating microfluidic devices and cell culture are encouraged to apply.
 
 
 Research in the MNBL focuses on designing and fabricating microphysiological systems to study various diseases affecting multiple human organs in vitro. Our project involves collaborations with the faculty of Bioengineering and Biology at NYUAD. Responsibilities of the position include growing cells in organ-on-a-chip microfluidic devices, characterizing them using downstream analysis such as bioimaging and omics analysis, and testing new potential drugs on these cells. </h3><div><div>The Sreenivasan Lab at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking a Research Assistant to conduct studies examining working memory in human subjects. Applicants with a background in programming and interest in working memory are encouraged to apply. Terms of employment include competitive salary and benefits.

Research in the Sreenivasan Lab (http://nyuad.nyu.edu/sreenivasan-lab) focuses on the neurobiological mechanisms that constrain working memory ability. Our projects involve collaborations with Psychology and Biology faculty at NYUAD as well as Psychology faculty at NYU New York. The neuroimaging facilities at NYUAD include a 3T Prisma MRI, MEG, EEG, and eye tracking.

Responsibilities of the position include collecting behavioral and neurophysiological data, programming experiments and analysis routines, as well as managing the day-to-day functioning of the lab.

Candidates must hold a bachelor&rsquo;s degree or equivalent, though a master&rsquo;s degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with MATLAB or an equivalent programming language, strong computational skills, and a background in experimental psychology or neuroscience. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience and interest in addressing questions about working memory using neuroimaging. Organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
