Job Description: Senior Quantity SurveyorLocation: Oman Duration: 60 Months (5-Year Project) Vacancies: 10 (5 Omani Nationals &amp; 5 Expatriates)A leading consultancy firm renowned for delivering excellence in design and construction projects across the region. We are entrusted with a major, long-term infrastructure project in Oman and are seeking highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors to join our dynamic team. This is a exceptional opportunity to contribute to a significant national development.Position Summary: We are seeking ten (10) proactive and commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyors (5 Local Nationals and 5 Expatriates) to provide expert cost and contractual management from inception to completion. The successful candidates will be integral to ensuring the financial success of a major infrastructure project, delivering value for money while adhering to the highest professional standards.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Provide comprehensive pre and post-contract quantity surveying services for a large-scale infrastructure project.</li><li>Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and elemental cost plans during the design phase.</li><li>Manage the tender process, including preparation of tender documents, tender analysis, negotiation, and preparation of contract recommendations.</li><li>Administer contracts (likely FIDIC-based), including valuations, variation assessment, cost reporting, and final account agreements.</li><li>Provide strategic advice on contractual claims, disputes, and their resolution.</li><li>Prepare timely and accurate monthly cost reports and forecasts for senior management.</li><li>Perform rigorous risk and value management analysis and cost control.</li><li>Liaise effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure clear communication and project alignment.</li><li>Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff within the quantity surveying team.</li></ul>Qualifications and Experience:<ul><li>Essential: A minimum of a 3-4 year full-time BSc in Quantity Surveying from an institution accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).</li><li>Essential: Chartered Membership (MRICS) is mandatory.</li><li>Essential: A minimum of 10 years' post-graduate experience in a quantity surveying role.</li><li>Essential: Proven consultancy experience within the design and construction sector.</li><li>Essential: Demonstrable experience on at least two major infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, bridges, railways, ports, water networks, or large utilities projects).</li></ul>Required Skills and Competencies:<ul><li>Expert knowledge of standard forms of contract, particularly FIDIC.</li><li>Proven ability in cost planning, estimating, and cost control methodologies.</li><li>Strong financial and commercial acumen with exceptional negotiation skills.</li><li>Excellent report writing and presentation skills.</li><li>High proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., MS Office, CostX, Candy, etc.).</li><li>Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines.</li><li>Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.</li><li>Fluency in English is essential.
