 The RNA Modifications, Intellect, and NeuroDegeneration (RNA-MIND) Laboratory at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit an Associate Research Scientist to join our laboratory focused on stem cell biology, neuroscience, and molecular mechanisms of human disease.
 
 
 The successful candidate will work with human cell lines, embryonic stem cells, and iPSCs, including their generation, characterization, and differentiation into cortical neurons and brain organoids. Experience with organoid culture, cryo-sectioning, microscopy, and MEA functional assays is highly desirable.
 
 
 Expertise in CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing (knockout and correction) and in NGS workflows&mdash;such as ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, miRNA-seq, single-cell RNA-seq preparation, and CUT&amp;RUN&mdash;is strongly valued. Strong grounding in molecular biology techniques (Western blot, Northern blot, immunostaining, PCR/RT-qPCR, cloning, RNA work) is expected. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment that includes collaboration with fellow post-doctoral associates, senior and junior scientists, and undergraduate students. They will also benefit from the support of established Core Bioinformatics and Sequencing Platforms and High-Performance Computing facilities.

 The successful applicant will work on the development and application of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) for water remediation. The successful candidate will join a young yet highly energetic team dedicated to leveraging chemistry, reaction engineering, and manufacturing principles to address pressing challenges in the water sector. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists and undergraduate students. The appointed research assistant will conduct independent research on COF materials, focusing on their synthesis, characterization, and practical application.  NYUAD Water Research Center at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a research scientist to work on the development of membrane desalination to treat water from the Arabian Gulf feed sources and on the design and scale-up of low energy membranes for water purification, under the supervision of Professor Nidal Hilal, Director of the Water Research Center and Global Professor of Engineering.
 
 
 The successful applicant will drive an exciting project on developing functional membrane materials, including nanostructured polymer membranes tailored to microfiltration, ultrafiltration, membrane distillation, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis. The candidate will employ advanced membrane fabrication techniques and characterization tools (SEM, TEM, DSC, TGA, BET, etc.) to establish fabrication-structure-property-performance relationships in novel materials for sustainable desalination and water treatment. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists and engineers, graduate students and undergraduate students.
 
 
 The successful applicant will manage projects and work closely with postdoctoral researchers, build deep technical knowledge and develop transferable solutions. He/she will participate in developing novel concepts and writing proposals. He/she will work towards solving complex problems with efficiency and creativity. He/she will be involved in writing reports, authoring publications, drafting patents and presenting results at conferences. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated knowledge of materials science and engineering, membrane fabrication techniques, membrane characterization tools and separation processes.  The ideal candidate is self-motivated and hard-working with a Masters degree in Data Science, Computational Social Science, Computer Science, or Information Science, or a bachelor&rsquo;s degree with several years of experience and expertise in their field. The position requires experience with at least one of the following: Data Science, Machine Learning, Computational Social Science, Big Data.  Research in the Sreenivasan Lab (http://nyuad.nyu.edu/sreenivasan-lab) focuses on the neurobiological mechanisms that constrain working memory ability.  As Lead Data Scientist, you will be responsible for defining and implementing advanced data science solutions, leading a team of 10 professionals. This role requires strong technical expertise, strategic leadership, and hands-on involvement in developing machine learning architectures and models.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Key Responsibilities:

 Provide technical leadership to a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers.
 </li>
 <li>
 Design and implement data solutions for applications in BFSI, quantitative research, and asset management.
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop and optimize ML models, including LLMs and NLP pipelines, in multi-GPU environments.
 </li>
 <li>
 Define scalable and robust architectures for data processing and predictive modeling.
 </li>
 <li>
 Act as the team&rsquo;s technical reference, promoting best practices and continuous innovation.
 </li>
 <li>
 Communicate technical insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data capabilities into products and workflows.
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 
 
 
 What We&rsquo;re Looking For:
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 7+ years of experience in applied data science within BFSI, quantitative research, or asset management.
 </li>
 <li>
 Proven experience in technical leadership and team management.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong expertise in Machine Learning, LLMs, NLP, and foundational models.
 </li>
 <li>
 Hands-on experience with Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, among others.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to work hands-on in complex technical environments.
 </li>
 <li>
 Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 
 
 
 Academic Background:
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Master&rsquo;s or PhD in relevant fields, preferably from top-tier universities (Ivy League, Oxbridge, ETH, etc.)
 </li>
