Civil Inspector (Infra)

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Civil Inspector (Infra) to join our team! In this role you will get to perform continuous surveillance of assigned inspection activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
What You'll Be Doing:<ul><li>
Ensure that all construction works are performed in strict accordance with the plans and specifications.</li><li>
Report to the ARE or RE any failure of the Contractor to perform the work as per the drawings and specifications and to provide good workmanship.</li><li>
Maintain a detailed diary of the day&rsquo;s work activities, issues, work approved or rejected, hours of operation, labor and equipment used, etc. and sign at the end of each day as directed by the ARE.</li><li>
Interface with the public and stake holders adjacent to the work to mitigate the construction impacts.</li><li>
Coordinate with the contractor&rsquo;s site engineers in charge of the work on a daily basis to advise on the proper execution of the work.</li><li>
Coordinate with the other disciplines inspectors and arrange for sampling and testing of satisfactorily completed work, and quality assurance testing of suspect materials.</li><li>
Coordinate with the Surveyors to check the line and grade of ready work and completed work for conformance with the plans and specifications.</li><li>
Report questionable methods of operation by the Contractor to the ARE or to the RE.</li><li>
Report to the ARE or RE any failure of the Contractor to perform the work as per the drawings and specifications and to provide good workmanship.</li><li>
Process the Inspection Requests and maintain records of their status.</li><li>
Maintain detailed records of work performed by the contractor in case the work is performed on a Day Works basis.</li><li>
Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at site, as required by the Assistant Resident Engineer and the project safety representatives.</li><li>
Act in a professional way but firm in dealings with the Contractor.</li></ul>
What Required Skills You'll Bring:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree or Diploma in Civil or Construction Engineering.</li><li>
Minimum 5+ years of demonstrable experience in all aspects of road/infrastructure construction supervision and general Wet/Dry utilities projects.</li><li>
Must be able to read the shop drawings, method statements and construction specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction related processes related to area of assignment.</li><li>
Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc. and any project specific engineering and construction relevant software.</li><li>
Good written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with project team.</li><li>

Job Description

Monitoring and ensuring that all architectural engineering aspects of the project are carried out as per inspection plan/drawings/codes and specifications.</li><li>
Liaising with the Senior Architectural Engineer and other Engineers and Managers to provide support and guidance as required</li><li>
Review and monitor variations to the work to mitigate time and cost impacts for any required changes</li><li>

JOB TITLE: SENIOR INSPECTOR I - QUALITY (COATING, INSULATION &amp; FIRE PROOFING) - FABN YARD 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li> 
Ensure weather conditions are acceptable in line with applicable standards/ specifications (Environmental, time and economic constraints).</li><li>
Ensure manufacturer&rsquo;s instructions and MSDS are followed while handling &amp; storage of Painting/Coating materials abrasives at site.</li><li>
Ensure that data sheets are available, material traceability is maintained and correct material used.</li><li>
Monitor performance of contractors, ensure Applicators are competent and where required have valid certification for the process in use, equipment is in serviceable condition.</li><li>
Ensure inspection and test equipment is serviceable, with in calibration period and personnel are knowledgeable in its use.</li><li>
Ensure weld area is covered before blasting, where pressure testing is not completed.</li><li>
Ensure protection of flange serration, instruments etc before blasting.</li><li>
Ensure surface preparation blast profile/cleanliness meet requirements.</li><li>
Continuous monitoring of surface cleanliness and record surface profile (Should take place at least three times during the coating process: before any surface preparation activities starts, after surface preparation, before coating begins and between each application of coating in a multi-coat system).</li><li>
Monitor wet film thickness during application and application technique.</li><li>
Monitor dry film thickness and recoating intervals.</li><li>
Ensure any identification marks or tags removed or over coated are replaced.</li><li>
After the full curing activity conduct visual inspection and specified non-destructive and/or destructive tests.</li><li>
Visual inspection after each coat (Verify correct shade, degree of gloss and evenness and be free from tackiness after drying/curing and free from cracks, holidays, runs sags, wrinkles, patches, brush or roller marks or other defects that may deleterious to the quality of the coating).</li><li>
Witness destructive tests as applicable in accordance with the project specifications (Holiday detection, Adhesion testing, Impact resistance testing, Cathodic dis-bondment testing, Thickness of coating on steel body, Thickness of coating on weld bead, Peel test, Overall degree of adhesion ,voids exposing bare metal).</li><li>
Check for any damages and defects upon completion of each stage of painting/coating works.</li><li>
Inspect insulation material to verify the manufacturer, type of product, and thickness of insulation, and batch number.</li><li>
Ensure manufacturer&rsquo;s instructions and MSDS are followed while handling &amp; storage of insulation materials at site.</li><li>
Verify insulation materials are stored off the floor under shade in secured and well-ventilated areas away from moisture and water which may lead loosening of insulation strength.</li><li>
Ensure insulation materials are stored separately based on type, width, and thickness.</li><li>
Ensure different manufacturer&rsquo;s products are not allowed to combine and stored separately.</li><li>
Verify materials are used in the same order in which they are delivered, so that the order of consumption is first-in-first-out.</li><li>
Ensure System/Subsystem testing, reinstatement, and painting completed and released from piping /equipment prior to start insulation.</li><li>
Ensure pipe work and equipment are insulated as per line list and isometric.</li><li>
Ensure equipment insulation is as per the equipment data sheet.</li><li>
Verify heat traced piping/equipment are released prior to application of insulation.</li><li>
Ensure equipment, paved areas etc., adjacent to components being insulated are protected from dripping compounds and sealants.</li><li>
Ensure piping and equipment is clean, dry, and free from grease, dirt, loose rust, and scale.</li><li>
Verify austenitic stainless-steel vessels, equipment, and piping need special attention to prevent contamination due to corrosive products like chlorine, chlorides, and surface is wrapped with aluminum or stainless steel foil as per project specification</li><li>
Inspect insulation/cladding at each stage as indicated on ITPs.</li></ul> 
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:<ul><li> 
Diploma in Mechanical / Civil Engineering or equivalent for Painting / Coating / Insulation / Refractory.</li><li>
Minimum 10 years&rsquo; experience as Painting/Coating/Insulation/Refractory QC Inspector.</li><li>
BGAS Gr.II or NACE Level II for Painting/Coating Inspector.</li><li>
Should have experience in oil &amp; gas/petrochemical industry.</li><li>
Should have previously worked with major EPC contractor or their subcontractors.</li></ul></div>
