<li>Track federal and state legislation on core and emerging legal issues</li>
<li>View or attend meetings and events on behalf of the team, such as Congressional proceedings, coalition meetings and policy briefings</li>
<li>Support the preparation of NWLC products like factsheets, reports, or comments on proposed federal agency regulations</li>
<li>This internship will likely not involve litigation activities</li></ul>

Drafting briefs and other pleadings for filing in federal courts, including dispositive motions and appellate submissions.
Assisting with case preparation and litigation strategy, including reviewing records and supporting trial and oral argument preparation.
Preparing and delivering a moot oral argument before a panel of experienced OIL attorneys.
Attending OIL trainings, Division&#8209;wide programs, tours, and networking events, as schedules permit.

Summary
DLA Piper's Raja Gaddipati Fellowship is an in-house pipeline initiative that offers undergraduate students and recent graduates insight into a large law firm environment. The six-week, full-time paid summer internship involves a combination of research projects, lectures, and direct mentoring. Students complete a rigorous application and interview process to compete for a limited number of seats. The fellowship is named in honor of former DLA Piper partner, Raja Gaddipati, who was deeply involved in the community and ensuring all law students have an opportunity to succeed in the profession. The 2026 program will be held in the following offices: Chicago, New York, Palo Alto, and Washington, DC. The program is scheduled to run from the middle of June through late July. 
 
Candidates must submit the following for consideration: a resume and a cover letter explaining their interest in the program, an unofficial school transcript, and two letters of recommendation . The most qualified candidates will be invited to answer a series of questions via recorded video. Once all video responses are reviewed, the top candidates will be notified by the recruitment team to schedule a live video interview.

This position will be primarily responsible for developing and launching a two to three new engineering courses for high school students including a research program in time for summer 2026. We are looking for an enthusiastic engineering student to work as part of our East Region Dams Practice in our Germantown, MD, Arlington, VA, or Washington, D.C. offices as a Dam Safety Engineering Summer 2026 Intern. We are seeking a candidate who has a strong interest in Dams with a focus on one of the following disciplines: structural, geotechnical, or hydrologic and hydraulic engineering. This position will support a variety Dam Engineering projects across the East region. The successful candidate will join the AECOM dams team which is consistently ranked as the #1 firm in Dams and Reservoirs by ENR and will have access to exciting career opportunities.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>
Providing support for projects including design, analysis, inspection, construction observation, and regulatory compliance activities associated with a variety of dams.</li><li>
Working with multi-disciplinary teams on various projects related to dams and other hydraulic structures.</li><li>
Flexibility and willingness to travel for project work part time as needed.</li>
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.

Qualifications 
Minimum Requirements:<ul><li>
Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis/interest in structural, geotechnical, or hydrologic and hydraulic engineering and must have completed at least 3 years of study. Candidates who have graduated with a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree and plan to continue with the Master&rsquo;s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor&rsquo;s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.</li><li>
Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required for this role.</li></ul>
Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>
Valid U.S. Driver&rsquo;s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.</li><li>
Strong desire to learn and a professional drive.</li><li>
Effective written and oral communication skills.</li><li>
Knowledge of MS Office Programs. Capable of functioning with spreadsheets, word processing, and standard office software.</li><li>
A strong sense of commitment and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline-driven environment.</li><li>
Ability to travel for project work part-time as needed.</li><li>
A GPA of 3.0 or higher.</li><li>
Knowledge of dam engineering concepts through coursework or work experience.</li><li>
Experience in AutoCAD.</li></ul>
