The goal of this project is to create a single digital hub for families to learn about their childcare options and find childcare for their children aged 5 and below. The hub will also support childcare providers by sharing information on how to begin and continue providing childcare services to New Yorkers. The hub will include relevant content and features that could include a detailed screening process for parents, referrals section, information about available childcare services, and/or a unified map/provider services locator of childcare providers.
The UX Design Lead, working with internal and external stakeholders, will lead the UX strategy and interaction design, as well as contribute to the front-end development for the childcare hub website. .
SCOPE OF SERVICES
The UX Design Lead is a strategic leader who advocates for user-driven and data-based digital experiences for New Yorkers.
This position will report to OTI Digital Service and work closely with the Innovation Team in the Mayor&rsquo;s Office to improve the digital experience of childcare access for New Yorkers. The UX Design Lead will leverage interaction design and front-end development skills to create prototypes for user testing and implement design solutions that meet the needs of parents and childcare providers, ensuring the hub serves as a comprehensive resource for information, referrals, and services related to childcare in New York.
The Hub is nearing launch, so the position will be responsible for final design adjustments leading up to launch, as well as beginning to develop and test new feature prototypes for a version 2.0. After launch, the position will be responsible for tracking and analyzing performance metrics, refining the design, and building out and integrating new features for version 2.0.

We are currently seeking a Product Designer to join the Card Platforms &amp; Data team. This role will partner with our business teams representing Card Data, Models, Decisioning, and Credit. They will need to be experienced in working with design systems and comfortable defining net new components within an ambiguous and highly technical space involving raw data, models, and internal associate facing platforms. Cross functional partners are new to working with Design. This is a 0-1 space for Design engagement. We are passionate about advocating for user needs and delivering innovative, world-class products that redefine our customers day-to-day financial activities.

Role Expectations</h4>
As a Product Designer, you&rsquo;ll combine your craft expertise with an understanding of our customers and the business to co-create innovative solutions to complex problems.
Here are some of the expected competencies for this role:
Product Design Expertise: Leverage deep expertise in product design and skills across interaction, visual and service design to elevate the quality and maturity of the design practice at Capital One; in collaboration with cross-functional partners, use appropriate tools, platforms, frameworks and design systems and work with teams to create artifacts that may include journey maps, blueprints, high-fidelity designs and prototypes
Human-Centered: Champion the customer through the design process, leveraging critical-thinking skills that factor in data, research insights, scalability, tech constraints and feedback 
Business-Focused: Understand and apply business and customer strategy, facilitate design process activities with team and partners, negotiating customer needs and business goals for harmonious outcomes
Problem-Solving: Actively build an understanding of the potential of tech and data capabilities and emerging technologies and use this knowledge to inform work, identify new opportunities and help your team navigate technical limitations
Collaboration: Foster relationships with partners and continuously expand your network, listening to diverse points of view and collaborating with an informed perspective to influence outcomes, break down silos and gain alignment
Communication: Present work to audiences across levels and job functions using a human-centered approach that integrates design frameworks, data and research insights to effectively articulate insights and design decisions
The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio demonstrating their process, results, and impact.<h4 class="jobSectionHeader">
Basic Qualifications</h4><ul><li>
At least 3 years of experience in a Product Design role</li><li>
At least 3 years of experience with design and prototyping tools, such as Figma</li></ul>
Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>
At least 4 years of experience in a Product Design role</li><li>
At least 4 years of experience with design and prototyping tools, such as Figma</li><li>
At least 4 years of experience collaborating with product, tech and business partners</li><li>
At least 4 years of experience working with an established design system</li><li>
Experience working in heavily regulated, data heavy problem spaces</li></ul>

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $127,500 - $145,500 for Pr. Associate, Design 

New York, NY: $139,100 - $158,700 for Pr. Associate, Design 

Richmond, VA: $115,900 - $132,200 for Pr. Associate, Design 
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate&rsquo;s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
