Seasonal Grounds Maintenance

Manor country club is seeking grounds keepers to join the team. Grounds keepers are responsible for maintaining the appearance of the course and should have a good eye for detail. Prior experience is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train anyone that is willing to learn. This position is seasonal with 40 hour work weeks and the opportunity for overtime. Must have valid drivers license.

Requirements:

Perform daily tasks necessary to keep the maintenance facility clean, organized, and safe.

Clean machinery after each use, and report any deficiencies to the mechanic

Be able to preform specific tasks relative to golf course maintenance including but not limited to:

• Walk mow greens
• Flymo and or rotary mow steep banks, bunker faces, and small turf areas
• Line trim trees, shrubs, posts, etc
• Edge cart paths, sprinkler heads, bunkers, etc
• Ball mark repair
• Divot filling
• Sod laying
• Utility vehicle operation
• Hand raking bunkers
• Sump pump
• Miscellaneous hand tool operations
• Apply fertilizers and chemicals as directed by supervisors

Required to wear personal protective clothing and or equipment to comply with established safety and operating standards

Follow established policies for proper use of equipment

Skills:

• Good organizational skills
• Ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently
• Report any issues you may see on the golf course to the golf course superintendent or assistant superintendent
• Ability to perform heavy physical work, may be required to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly, performing such activities as bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping for up to five (5) hours without sitting.

Education

High school education or equivalent is preferred. The ability to understand and follow directions and operate golf course machinery preferred.

Work habits and conditions

• Works primarily outdoors on golf course and club house grounds. Potential exposure to inclement weather, equipment movement hazards and dangerous chemicals/solvents, pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers if proper safety procedures are not followed.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.65 - $18.00 per hour
