    Job Goal:
    Perform a wide variety of office/clerical and receptionist responsibilities and maintenance of records as required by the assigned office/department.

    Job Specific Requirements:
    Process incoming and outgoing student records; maintain student records, also responsible for timely processing and mailing of student report cards. Good oral/written communication skills are required. Confidentiality is essential. Two years of secretarial experience is preferred.

    Essential Requirements:
    • High school diploma and one year general office experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge, and ability required to perform the job
    • Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment
    • Ability to communicate effectively with other employees and the general public using tact, courtesy, and good judgment
    • Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail to meet deadlines. Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions, policies, and procedures
    • Ability to operate standard office equipment
    • Confidentiality is required in all aspects of this job
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google apps and programs

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other Duties may also be Assigned):
    • Perform a variety of clerical work in support of the school including typing, proofreading, filing, and checking information on records
    • Perform routine office/clerical duties as assigned; maintain and monitor student attendance records
    • Answer telephones and take messages, respond to inquiries and provide information about school operations, referring calls to appropriate staff members
    • Receive calls from parents regarding student attendance and absence
    • Greet and direct office visitors, provide routine information and refer questions to staff
    • Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality when dealing with student information
    • Enter data in computer systems; maintain records and filing systems for student files, building inventory and prepare basic statistical reports as assigned
    • Respond to student inquiries and problems at the counter, attend to sick students and provide first aid assistance within scope of district policies
    • Types and distributes forms, correspondence, reports, contracts, memoranda, statistics, and schedules by using office machines such as a typewriter, word processor, computer terminal, adding machine, photocopier, and other standard office equipment
    • Completes regularly recurring reports; compiles data from varied sources and makes summary reports as required. May involve routine mathematical calculations and tabulations in accordance with established methods
    • Maintains and updates files, records, and logs on computerized and manual record keeping systems; searches for files and records for readily identifiable information as directed
    • Greets and assists the public, District staff, and other agencies by phone or in person by providing information of a general nature as authorized from sources such as published directories and procedures, calendars of events and staff schedules. Refers inquiries/visitors to appropriate department or individual when necessary
    • Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students, parents and staff
    • Act as a friendly ambassador for the North Bend School District
    • Perform other tasks as assigned by administration
    • Calls substitute teachers as needed

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:
    1. Possess and maintain a valid First Aid card as required.
    2. Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance.
    3. Bloodborne Pathogen Training/Hepatitis B Shot Series Training as required.
    4. Valid Oregon Driver's License
    5. Pre-Employment drug screening (THC screening included)
