Professional Security Consultants (PSC) is accepting applications for a Dispatcher at a high-profile retail location in the Cleveland-area market.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates a strong commitment to teamwork, customer service, and public safety.

Position Overview

The Dispatcher is responsible for operating a centralized security dispatch center, monitoring digital CCTV systems, coordinating communications, and supporting on-site security operations. This role requires frequent interaction with the public, security personnel, property management, law enforcement, and emergency responders.

Starting Hourly Rate

$17.50 per hour

Required Qualifications

  • Prior dispatch experience
  • Proficiency with email, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
  • Typing speed of 60 words per minute preferred
  • Experience with Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Records Management Systems (RMS) strongly preferred
  • Emergency services, public safety, or police dispatching experience strongly preferred

Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate a digital CCTV camera system and alarm equipment
  • Monitor and communicate on multiple radio channels and phone lines, including cellular radio applications and internet-based tip lines
  • Dispatch and coordinate security officers and emergency responders as needed
  • Prepare detailed daily activity and incident reports
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Routinely communicate with the public, security staff, property management, police, and emergency first responders
  • Participate in targeted enforcement and Parental Guidance Programs
  • Work in partnership with on-site law enforcement agencies and programs

Security Objectives

  • Maintain a visible presence to deter crime and disruptions
  • Assist guests and enforce property rules and regulations
  • Ensure proper access control
  • Support a safe, secure, and professional environment through proactive engagement

Skills Required

  • Strong written communication skills with proper grammar, spelling, and sentence structure
  • Exceptional verbal communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team for extended periods

Minimum Requirements

  • Must qualify for an Ohio Guard card
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • Clean-cut, polished, and professional appearance
  • Courteous, flexible, and able to remain professional under pressure
  • Must remain free from criminal indictment
