Job Description

As a Security Officer - Driver Unarmed Patrol in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced tech and data center location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and stay visible to help discourage security-related incidents. This is an unarmed driving post requiring a valid driver's license under AU Driver Policy requirements, with time spent on vehicle patrols and access control support. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients and site personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a high-tech data center location.
• Control access to restricted areas by checking identification, monitoring visitor and/or vendor entry, maintaining logs, and directing authorized personnel according to site requirements.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards, policy concerns, and/or unusual activity through established notification channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by post assignment.
• Monitor alarms, cameras, and other facility systems as assigned, document observations accurately, and communicate updates to the appropriate parties in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
