Job Description

As a Security Officer - Night Patrol Driver in Merrillville, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to calls for assistance with calm, professional communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid drivers license. You will support a people-first culture by delivering reliable service through teamwork, integrity, and innovative thinking.

What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to clients, contractors, and/or visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial location.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, process areas, parking lots, and perimeter lines, noting unusual conditions and reporting findings per post orders.
Monitor access points and assist with badge checks, visitor processing, and/or vehicle screening as directed, helping to deter unauthorized entry.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, suspicious activity, and/or medical situations, and notify appropriate site contacts and/or public responders.
Complete detailed shift documentation, including patrol logs, incident reports, and dispatch communications, using required systems and written reports.

Minimum Requirements:

Client requires proof of HS Diploma/GED.
A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Customer Service Experience is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
