Job Description

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Roving Patrol in Roanoke, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy manufacturing location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to alarms and/or access control needs, communicate clearly with site teams, and provide customer-focused support to employees and visitors. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within an industrial production location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, warehouses, parking areas, and perimeter points to help identify security-related concerns, hazards, and unusual activity; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
• Control access at gates, doors, and loading dock areas by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, maintaining logs, and directing employees, contractors, and drivers to approved locations.
• Monitor cameras, alarms, and fire or life systems as assigned, respond to alerts, and communicate conditions to site leadership and/or emergency services when required.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, document events in written reports, and support investigations by preserving observations and coordinating with supervisors and/or local authorities.

Minimum Requirements:

• Alarm Panel Experience is preferred.
• Customer Service Experience is preferred.
• Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
• Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
